Promoting volunteerism and connecting youth to volunteer opportunities.

Future Aspirations:

• To build partnerships between numerous Youth organizations in Markham;
• To become the main bridge that connects Youth organizations in Markham;
• To host a large event which raises awareness on volunteerism; and
• To build partnerships with the different York Region School Boards.

Core Values:

• Volunteering contributes to the vitality and capacity building of the community.
• Volunteers and the professionals that support them are an integral component of the voluntary sector.
• Sharing of experience and knowledge is the cornerstone of community and leadership development.

So who are we?

Youth Volunteer Markham is dedicated to proving youth with many opportunities. We provide up to date volunteer postings, a full scholarship calender, and soon to come are youth employment postings and resume tips.

Co-Founders

Youth Volunteer Markham was co-founded in March 2010 by Dami Dina and Sharon Yau, two grade 11 students. These two aren't new to volunteering and managing organizations. Dami is President and Chair of the Youth Environmental Network of York Region, Chair of the Turn the Page Conference and memeber of the Markham Mayor's Youth Task Force. Sharon is Director of Operation for the Youth Environmental Network of York Region, Member of Turn the Page and Member of the Markham Mayor's Youth Task Force.
